Premiering and featured in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, this courtyard, the Palace Grounds, was recently built alongside its hidden underground dungeon as part of the architecture of Shang Tsung's Palace, constructed by Li Mei’s people in Outworld under the Deadly Alliance's threat of death.
Overview[]
Since after the Deadly Alliance took over Outworld, the sorcerer Shang Tsung’s new palace after it was constructed by Li Mei's people under threat of death, is not only the base of operations for the Deadly Alliance, but it also serves as the new location for housing the Dragon King’s mummified army. Though it did not reappear in the sequel, Mortal Kombat: Deception, it is visible in the game's opening cinematic. In it, the camera travels up through between the two giant statues of the Dragon King's mummified dead solders then up the stairs and through the gates, resting at the battle between the Deadly Alliance and Raiden. When fighting on this stage, the moon can be seen in the distance with a thundering sky. Also, the dead souls can be seen and start screaming. Some of these souls can be seen hurling towards the soulnado through the gates of the palace or the sky.
