Karbrac is a non-canon character that made his only appearance in the first episode of the Mortal Kombat cartoon series, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm. He is the leader of the Tarkatans. In the series, it is stated that he is the "new" leader, however, it is never mentioned who the previous leader was.

Karbrac name's was likely intended as a phonetic anagram of Baraka's name (but with extra letters: R and C). His race was also referred to ironically as the Nomads throughout the series, as they were not renamed as Tarkatans until well after the show's run.
