History[]

Altars of Sinkiang

On the left is the Altar of King Kang, one of the 5 founders of the lost city of Sinkiang in Outworld.

Not much is known about Kang, other then he, along with his fellow Outworlders, built the underground city of Sinkaing within Outworld. His four fellow compatriots and dear friends were named Adrina, Eliza, Rihiana and Tsung. It was said he was the strongest and most honorable of them all. They took it upon themselves as the royal rulers of Sinkiang and ruled the city together. They all lived in a time of harmony when Outworld was ruled by its first ruler.

Unfortunately, their reign of peace did not last. The vicious Shao Kahn's rise to power has plunged the realm into a state of oppression and chaos. The founders devised a plan to escape Kahn's tyrannical reign by retreating to an unknown realm with the aid of a secret portal they created. The women used the portal to escape to the other side while friends King Kang and King Tsung stood behind to defend the city and its people.

Both Kang and Tsung died under mysterious circumstances.

Memory of King Kang[]

After thousands of years passed since the city of Sinkiang was abandoned, Jax Briggs of the Special Forces entered the subterranean land in Outworld through a portal in Sinkaing's Earthrealm counterpart known as Sin Kiang. While hunting down the Black Dragon crime lord, Kano, he entered the ruins of the underground city and stumbled across two old altars next to the last door. These altars were built to honor two of the five founders of Sinkiang. He used the two kings's crystals from their altars to open the door to continue in his pursuit of Kano.
