Added by HozenziGlacierThe Pit Bottom is the bottom of the Pit I and is a selectable arena in Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Its first appearance was Mortal Kombat when the player has to fight Reptile and then brought back in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. The bottom of The Pit has three bodies of unknown players, four heads impaled in the metal spikes, and one skeleton. They were likely chosen warriors who fought in the tournament of the original game (or from previous tournaments, as the skeleton would indicate) but lost. This arena does not have a stage fatality as the characters are already fighting on the tier.
Added by The3rdThis stage reappeared in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks in the first level where it is revealed that it is connected to Goro's Lair. It is also where Liu Kang and Kung Lao battled the Onis and the Oni Warlord before escaping Shang Tsung's island to meet up with Raiden and the others at the Wu Shi Academy.
The Pit Bottom returns in Mortal Kombat (2011), looking drastically different than other appearances, it has two curving-shaped pillars with spikes that look organic, several spikes surrounding the pillars, and two gargoyles spewing blood out of their mouths. This blood can actually get on your character and stain their clothes, but in the case of Skarlet, she'll likely absorb the blood since she is made from blood.

- In Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, while the player is going up the Pit I, Ed Boon's head is impaled in one of the spikes below.
- Several of the staff's heads (most notably, Ed Boon, John Tobias and John Vogel) are seen disembodied and impaled on the spikes.
- In the first Mortal Kombat, there was a very secret Game Over screen that appeared about every 1/30th game. Here, the screen would slowly scroll down from the Pit and down to the Pit Bottom, showcasing more mutilated opponents impaled on the spikes including one with their torso ripped off.
- In the SNES and Genesis versions of Mortal Kombat I, the spikes are totally clean, with no severed heads or dead bodies impaled on it, due to censorship (even if the blood is enabled, for the Sega version).
