Overview |
The Slaughterhouse is an arena that exists within the Netherrealm, located in the city of Nekros. It made its first and only appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deception.
Overview[]
The Slaughterhouse was present in the first plane of the Netherrealm. The hazy city was surrounded by fog and an unseen evil lurked within the shroud of the building. A constant feed of human and animals are seen being subjected to the grinders which keep the river of blood flowing through this dark complex.
To the left of the two opponent, is a huge statue of a skull with blood gushing out of its mouth down to the "basement." They start off in a fairly sized fighting area; it looks as if they are fighting in an ancient temple, as there are many openings around with which various temples can be seen on either side. Behind both of them is an entrance that leads to the slaughterhouse portion of this arena. They fight on what looks to be a decaying and withering wooden floor.
Like most arenas in Deception, the Slaughterhouse is multi-tiered and the floor begins to give way as kombatants are slammed against it, and the floor eventually collapses. If one knocks his/her opponent into the air in the right spot, they will break through the floor, and fall straight into the slaughterhouse. He/she then land on the lower level of this arena. To the left of where the kombatant fall, are huge gears that are apparently making the grinders rotate. These gears look to be surrounded by a pool of blood with a steady stream falling from the ceiling (from the skull with the blood gushing from its mouth.) There are many stone passageways on either side of this area as well.
The stage possesses what could be considered one of the most vicious Stage Fatalities in the series: a pair of segmented revolving cylinders parallel to each other. Each segment has spikes laden on them and those unlucky enough to get knocked in between the grinders will be shredded to pieces where their blood is sprayed against the wall on the other side.
