See: War Fan
Steel Fans are bladed fan-like weapons used by Princess Kitana from Mortal Kombat II onwards. Khameleon also used these weapons in Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Jade used this weapon in Mortal Kombat II and as a secret kombatant in Mortal Kombat (2011). One of these steel fans returned as a collectible Relic under the name Kitana's Fan within the Konquest mode of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
These ancient bladed fans are Kitana's trademark weapon. She's sliced the throats of many Tarkatans in battle with them.
Trivia
- In Mortal Kombat II, Kitana uses silver steel fans, and Jade uses bronze fans, yet as she throws them, they become silver.
- In Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, Kitana's fans are completely made of steel, no blue parts. When they are shaken by Kitana, they create a pink wind which paralyzes the enemy.
- In Mortal Kombat (2011), Kitana uses blue steel fans, and Jade uses green fans.
- In MKII, MK3 and MKG, Kitana uses the fans that are more similar to usual fans, only to be wielded to blow wind to the face or to hide the face (Japanese theater), they are also silver. However, in MK:DA and so on, the fans included blades and became blue.
