MK9 set the bar super high with how good it was for its time, but after the mixed bag that was MKX, I'll just be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully MK11 is less of a long term disappointment for me. I couldn't even be bothered with Injustice 2, but MK, I know I can always be more invested as to at least give a chance.
The timeline for all four of NetherRealm Studios' releases falls right into place. Ed Boon is the epitome of a troll, but he can still troll and be truthful simultaneously. It's called being sarcastic. MK9 was shown at E3 in 2010 (June) and the game was released in 2011. Injustice was shown at E3 in 2012 (June) and the game was released in 2013. MKX was shown at E3 in 2014 (June) and the game was released in 2015. Injustice 2 was shown at E3 in 2016 (June) and was released in 2017. MK11 WILL BE shown at E3 in 2018 (June) and it WILL BE released in 2019.

This is hilarious, actually, because I just heavily criticized a YouTuber for guaranteeing that the MK11 reveal trailer at Combo Breaker. Of course she tried to play it off, but I gave the link proving she said that and she was wrong. She said she'd "eat her hair" if she were wrong and gave her word, so I was asking her for the video confirmation of her eating her hair. Haha.
But yeah, I mean... Anything can happen. At least I'm not guaranteeing the game to be released at a specific event; I gave it a whole year. I think my window for error is quite sufficient. Lol. I wil say that there is an EXTREMELY HIGH probability that MK11 will be announced officially at E3 in just over two weeks from now and the game will be released sometime in 2019.
Regardless, I am the biggest Mortal Kombat mark that I'm aware of, so needless to say, I'm hyped.
Ed Boon's always one of those trolling developers. So I'm not surprised, though I'm still disappointed about no new MK11 game.
I'm working on a Powerpoint video series where almost all the kombatants are participating in challenges in a Survivor/Total Drama like series and I've doubt I would put anything from that installment.
Interestingly, Boon retweeted this from RockSteady, so if I had to guess, Warner Bros is just keeping their game studios tight lipped until their games are ready to be revealed or announced closer to around the same time. Hopefully MK11 is still being worked on, that said.
