Hey all, I was talking on another thread showing a Best to Worst list. It's not quite a fair list being that it's mostly a person or a small group of people who put that list together. I was wondering what your list would look like. Rate the characters from best to worst.
I've gotta say... This was very difficult to do beyond like the top 10 or so. I think I could make a "most important character" list or something of the sort with much more confidence. Note: I don't consider Triborg as a stand alone character, as he is just an amalgamation of the cyborgs. Anyway, here you go:
72 – Meat, 71 – Mokap, 70 – Jacqui Briggs, 69 – Cassie Cage, 68 – Bo’ Rai Cho
@DLKMK: I like how diverse your list is from mine or any other one I've seen. The reason why I put Triborg into the mix is because I'm hoping that they'll have Triborg as a standalone character and both Cyrax and Sektor come back as "human" revenants.

Yeah, ranking the entire roster by favorites is very difficult to do. I'd venture to guess for the most part that anyone who bothers to do this will be vastly different from both of ours as well. I know casual fans have this perception that there's just a handful of characters that everyone likes, but that's simply not the case if you're more familiar with the franchise. Hell, a lot of the characters on my list are so high due to me simply thinking they have great potential if they'd ever be brought back.
I can see you hoping for Cyrax and Sektor to come back in their human forms, but they literally make up what Triborg is, so I believe if that were to happen, then Triborg couldn't possibly come back as canon. Even if you stripped Triborg (whom should be named Quadborg) of all the traits that make up the character (Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, and Sub-Zero), I could see that working, but not still being named Triborg. I'd be interested in seeing a name change before canonically adding him/it to the roster and also making him/it a completely artificial robot as opposed to a cyborg. Afterwards, they could bring back Cyrax, keeping him human, and Sektor, who is resurrected as a human, but goes on to find the last remnants of the Cyber Initiative at some Lin Kuei location and restores himself as a cyborg somehow, then realizing that cyborgs can still have emotions, so he re-creates the Tekunin in this timeline, except they are all artificial robots as opposed to cyborgs or something like that.
If you don't mind me asking, when did you first get into MK/what was the first MK game you played? I ask because I was very surprised to see the likes of Erron Black, Triborg, and Kotal Kahn so high on your list.
Yes, you're right about the difficultness to this list. I figured it would be. I wanted to challenge the fans. I wanted to see enough lists to come up with an average. I figured it might become a more accurate list. Probably not though, but I think it's fun anyway.
I like what you're saying about Triborg and the future of the Tekunin. It would create more depth to Triborg and it would be great to see a human Sektor in an Ironman type suit and have an army of Ultron type robots.
I started with the very first MK back in '92. Erron Black is just so independent from the other characters and mysterious. His back story leaves me craving for more. Triborg is where he is because he's so random and dangerous. Kotal Kahn is, to me, the best ruler of Outworld next to Shao Kahn.
Actually, I think it might be better if we do that at a later time and we open another thread. It's just that people probably already saw this and decided not to do it so they won't come back for it anyway. It's all good. I'll do it another time.
